If you have been told it was just a matter of losing weight, and your legs kept hurting, feeling heavy and bruising easily, the problem may never have been your effort. Lipedema is a disease of the tissue, and tissue has to be looked at from the inside.

Lipedema is a disease of the adipose tissue. It does not behave like the fat that responds to diet and training, which is why so much of what you tried never changed what needed to change.
Assessment comes before treatment
Palpation and inspection reach the surface. Below it there are layers, fibrosis, compartments and vascularisation, and it is that whole picture that separates one case from another. In the consultation, Dr. Diego examines the tissue with ultrasound, in real time, before proposing any course of treatment.

Tissue is not the same in every person, nor in the same body at different moments.
What is what
Telling adipose tissue, fibrosis and fluid apart is what makes the approach change from case to case.
Whether more than one condition is present
Lipedema can come alongside other conditions, and that has to show up in the assessment.
